FrieAme AU where Friede's a paediatrician and Amethio's a terminally ill inpatient. Friede's in charge of Amethio's care and keeps telling himself not to get attached but oops Friede gets attached. So does Amethio. Contains main character death, obviously!

Thinking about their mock-wedding in the flower garden again... Frie gently kisses Ame after they put the necklaces around each other, but Ame turns it into a proper make-out session.

Neither of them want to stop kissing, but Ame does end up running out of breath... Exhausted, he rests against Frie's chest
"[Me] Ame: If we didn't have to worry about being seen, I'd be doing more than just kissing you right now
Frie: Yeah? Like what?
Ame: ...Shut up. You know what I mean"
"[Me] Frie: Like touching, you mean?
Ame: ...
Frie: Like this? [Caresses Ame's thigh]
Ame: [Makes a weird high-pitched squeak]
Ame: IDIOT! D-Don't! Don't do that outside!
Frie: O-Oh um. Sorry?"
[Me] Frie being turned on by Ame's unexpectedly cute reaction... Ame being turned on by Frie's unexpected touch...
[Me] They both promptly decide it's best to go back before things, uh, escalate

I just love the idea of Ame insisting on doing everything himself when his body's clearly failing him and he actually can't take care of himself anymore... But he doesn't want to have Frie doing any of the personal care.

Frie doesn't want to force Ame, but it hurts seeing Ame no longer able to do simple, everyday tasks...
"[Me] Ame, unable to shower himself: I'M FINE I DON'T NEED YOUR HELP
Frie: Sure thing. I'll be out here if you want me though
Ame: [Slips in the shower while washing his hair and falls flat on his face]
Frie: You... You okay?
Ame: ...I'm fine!"
"[Me] Except Ame figures out he can't stand up again and either he's gonna have to ask Frie for help, or he'll be stuck on the shower floor forever

After the third attempt, he realises he really can't pull himself back up"
"[Me] Ame hates the thought of Frie seeing him naked and vulnerable. He hates that Frie will have to touch him directly in order to help him to his feet.

He hates that he'll have to rely on someone. The humiliation hurts more than the actual fall itself."
"[Me] Ame grits his teeth and braces himself.

Ame: Hey... C-Could you uh...
Frie: Yeah? You need me?

Wording it like that just makes Ame angry and frustrated. No, he doesn't need Frie! He doesn't even want Frie! But he doesn't have a choice, dammit!"
"[Me] Ame: ...Just get in here!

Frie opens the door and is startled when he sees Ame sitting down on the floor looking dejected and upset.

Frie: What happened?
Ame: Don't be stupid. What do you think happened?
Frie: ...Was that you falling earlier?
Ame:
Ame: S-So what if it was"
"[Me] Frie: Can you... not get up?
Ame: Why else would I call you in here? Stop being an idiot. You're smarter than that.
Frie: ..."
"[Me] Frie helps Ame to his feet. Ame's very unsteady, so Frie has to keep holding on to him.

Ame won't look Frie in the eyes. He's actively averting his gaze, even. Ame's wet hair clings to his face and is a lot messier than usual.

Just for a split second, Frie thinks that he's... kinda hot like that"
"[Me] Frie: (You idiot! What're you thinking?! He's a kid! He's your patient! Don't you dare!)
Ame: ...What?
Frie: Uh. N-Nothing. You okay?"
"[Me] Ame: Perfectly fine, clearly!
Frie: You know what I mean... Anyway, you'll get cold if you stay in here any longer. Have you washed yourself?
Ame: ...Yeah. I was... washing my hair, but...

Frie leans close and inspects Ame's hair without touching it. He can feel Ame tense up below him.

Frie: Looks alright to me"
"[Me] Frie: You can always rinse it out later. For now, we should get you back to bed, yeah?
Ame: ...Can you at least let go of me?
Frie: And have you fall over again? Nope.
Ame: ..."
"[Me] Frie turns off the shower, grabs Ame the towel he'd set aside, and quickly dries him before he ties the towel around Ame's middle. Ame holds on to his arm the entire time, somewhat awkwardly.

Frie doesn't look while he's doing it. He does respect Ame's privacy, after all"
"[Me] He then gets Ame's hospital gown for him and helps him get dressed.

He can tell that Ame's embarrassed. Which is only natural -- he's a teenager, after all. Frie doesn't blame him. It is awkward and uncomfortable."
[Me] But then Frie realises that oh... this could be the first time someone's A) seen Ame naked and B) touched him like this (it may not be sexual, but it's still intimate)
[Me] Frie almost wants to apologise for it. He definitely wants to apologise for thinking that Ame was attractive... but he's not going to mention that. Ever.
"[Me] Frie then takes Ame to his wheelchair, and Ame immediately climbs into it, letting go from Frie as soon as he's able to.

Ame doesn't say anything. Not even a thank you. Not any kind of acknowledgement.

So Frie doesn't say anything either, and simply takes Ame back to his room and helps him into bed"
"[Me] Frie: You need anything else?
Ame: ...No
Frie: Uh... I'll be back later. Take it easy, okay? Don't push yourself

Frie's expecting Ame to retort with his usual ""Don't tell me what to do!"" or insist that he's not pushing himself, but he still doesn't say anything to Frie. He just... huffs."
[Me] Frie takes that as his cue to leave, so he does. He stands outside Ame's room for a few moments, and just after shutting the door behind him, he's pretty sure he can hear Ame cursing loudly...
