FrieAme fake wedding ceremony

Extremely self-indulgent but: FrieAme doing a fake wedding ceremony (in Luci's flower garden for fun imagery) so that Frie can at least kinda sorta make part of Ame's wish come true (He's the best husband in Frie's mind!)

Frie doesn't think of it right away when Ame tells him. Maybe a couple of months later. Ame's almost too weak to do it, but Frie wants to try anyway

They go for one of their usual strolls, with Frie pushing Ame's wheelchair as always. Frie takes him to the flower garden - it's only just spring, but some of the flowers are starting to bloom already

Frie knows Ame will be dwelling on the fact that he might not see the garden when it's fully bloomed, so to take his mind off things, Frie decides to go ahead with his ~plans~ then

Sure they're not technically dating and sure they're not even engaged (Frie wonders if he should change it to a proposal, but he decides that that's too much weight on Ame's shoulders), but if either of those things were possible, they would've done them by now

Frie is really holding fake weddings in his workplace... that man...

Frie figures giving his patient something like a ring would seem really fucking weird no matter how you looked at it, so instead, he bought Ame a necklace. It's just a simple one: a thin silver chain with a small purple gem hanging off a triangular clasp - an amethyst

He says something cheesy like "I thought it'd suit you the best" and Ame just. Bursts into tears on the spot because he doesn't deserve Frie's love

Spi, who's also there: Uhhh I don't think he was old enough to get married, for starters

Frie: Ah! I can just see him! Holding our children! Playing with them! Loving them!
Spi: YIKES

Frie: He would've been the best father! The greatest father! That's all he wanted! We would've had as many kids as he wanted!
Gibe: You absolute fool. The two of you aren't biologically compatible for conceiving children together... Aren't you a doctor? Don't you know this?
Frie: I'm a children's doctor why would I know about biology

Gibe: If you work with children you should at least know how they're created

Frie: WE'D HAVE AS MANY KIDS AS HE WANTED-
Spi, trying his best not to bring up adoption: Why are you wanting to have kids with a 16-year-old

Frie: I meant like. When he was older. In the future. We'd live together... Somewhere peaceful. With our kids. We'd be happy. He'd be happy. He'd be... He'd be healthy. And. And.
Frie: And he'd be alive...
Gibe: Enough

Gibe and Spi both decide to just... completely ignore Frie and assume he's spouting absolute nonsense (it's only kind of nonsense)

(By this point Gibe's read Ame's letter and knows that Ame wanted nothing more than to have a loving family of his own, and that he also liked Frie, so Gibe feels really fucking weird about the whole thing. Spi just finds it amusing (and sad))

It's part nonsense, part truth- (perhaps it'll make Spi start thinking about having his own family someday...)

Oooh yes! Spi taking on Ame's wishes. It's not the same because Gibe wasn't as dismissive of Spi, but Spi still thinks that being a loving husband/father in order to prove to Gibe that it can be done, actually, is a great idea

Spi's also the family heir so again, he knows it's not the same as what Ame was trying to accomplish, but it still inspires him

Oh hold on. Spi goes off the rails after Ame's death and a couple of years later runs into Frie again, who helps him get back on the right path. Maybe Frie says something to Spi that makes Spi snap out of it. Like "If Amethio could see you right now he'd be extremely disappointed" and Frie decides to tell Spi about Ame's wish

Frie doesn't expect miracles, but eventually, Spi does sort himself out and gets married and starts a family
