FrieAme Modern Day Hospital AU Part 2
FrieAme AU where Friede's a paediatrician and Amethio's a terminally ill inpatient. Friede's in charge of Amethio's care and keeps telling himself not to get attached but oops Friede gets attached. So does Amethio.

Gibe wanting to get to know Ame but Ame doesn't really want to open up to his father... He doesn't trust Gibe...
[Me] He's sure Gibe has changed, but given how terribly he's treated Ame his whole life? He can't exactly sit down and have a conversation with the man all that easily
[Me] Ame asking Gibe what he does at work all day and Gibe gives a very concise explanation about how he's usually in business meetings or on the phone arranging things or sending emails... Or editing/proofreading reports/projects before they're sent off to clients...
"[Me] Ame: That sounds dreadfully boring
Gibe: It is"
"[Me] Ame: But... being in bed all day and not having the energy to do anything to pass the time is also... dreadfully boring...
Gibe: ..."
"[Me] Ame: At least you can do things...
Gibe: Perhaps. But trying to explain to someone that what they requested cannot be done in the way they desire for the eleventh time in a week is not exactly... enjoyable"
[Me] Ame realising that Gibe's job involves a lot of yelling at people and he almost wants to comment about how fitting that is for his father, but he holds back
[Me] He knows just how efficient Gibe is at such things lol
[Redacted] (Oh... what if Ame comments on it and immediately realizes he said something very rude...)
"[Me] Ame: So your job is telling people off for being stupid? I'm sure you're amazing at it
Ame, realising he said it out loud: Wait I didn't-"

Gibe: ...My job consists of many different things. That is simply one aspect of it.
Gibe: And while ""telling people off for being stupid"" is a rather... crude way of phrasing it, you are not entirely wrong to say that
Gibe just ignores the other part of Ame's comment"
[Me] Which is how Ame knows Gibe's mad at him

"[Me] Ame: ..........I'm sorry. I... I don't know why I said that...
Gibe: I know what you're implying, but let me say this: having to scold someone in a professional setting is... very tactical. It's a skill. It's different than saying what comes to you in the spur of the moment. You have to choose your words carefully"
"[Me] Ame: Right. I guess you can't exactly tell a client they're a disgrace and they shouldn't exist, after all...
Gibe: ...Do you want me to leave?"
"[Me] Ame has no idea why he keeps being so... snarky. This isn't the first time he's made a comment like this, either. They just sort of... come out without him meaning to say them
He's usually good at holding his true feelings back, so why is he suddenly unable to?"
[Me] (Ame doesn't know that it's just a sign his illness is progressing and whatnot, but he definitely hates that he's like this now)
[Redacted] He feels bad for saying these things but at the same time, he kind of should say them (so his dad realizes what stuff he told him...)
"[Me] Ame apologises again, but Gibe says nothing.
Gibe: I think you're tired. I should let you rest.
Ame: ...I'm sorry
Gibe: Don't be. I have simply overstayed my welcome
Ame: I-I really didn't--
Gibe: Amethio.
Ame: [Flinches]
Gibe: Calm down"
"[Me] Gibe: You clearly did mean those things. What you didn't mean was to say them out loud.
Gibe: There is no need to fret. I am not mad.
Ame: Y-You are, though...
Gibe: ...
Gibe: I shall be on my way. I will see you next week.
Ame: ...F-Father, I--
Gibe: Calm yourself. Why do you look like you're about to cry?"
"[Me] Ame: I... I just...
Ame: I feel so... p-pathetic... and... and...
Ame: I should be better than this! I shouldn't be... so childish...
Gibe: Rest. That should clear your head and help settle you down.
Ame: ..."
"[Me] Ame hates that Gibe won't even let him apologise properly or explain himself. He's just dismissing Ame's emotions again...
But Gibe's right -- Ame is tired. He probably should take a nap..."
[Me] Gibe gets up and leaves, telling Ame again that he's not angry with him, and says he's not bothered by such comments
[Me] Ame's just... extremely frustrated at himself. Like he always is.
[Redacted] I wonder if Gibe is a bit mad deep down... realizing that this is how Ame sees him.
[Me] I think he would be! But Gibe knows he only has himself to blame
[Redacted] It's his fault!
[Me] Also: Gibe approaching Frie and mentioning that Ame keeps saying things he insists he didn't mean to and that Ame seems to be having trouble keeping his thoughts to himself. And Gibe wonders if maybe that's because of the illness that Ame's blurting things out more than he ever used to
[Redacted] Oh... he worries
"[Me] Frie realising that oh yeah, he has been doing that a bit lately (Frie's used to Ame's snarky side, so he hadn't picked up on it)
So Gibe suggests that Frie explains that to Ame, since Ame seemed very concerned by it. Frie agrees that that's a good idea (and he's very happy that Gibe is now A) paying attention to Ame and B) caring about him)"

[Me] Frie wants Ame to be happy, after all!
[Redacted] Yeah! He deserves it!
[Me] Frie also knows how important it is to Ame that Gibe's trying to be kind to him...
[Redacted] Yes. His family is trying, even if it might seem like it's too late...
[Me] And it's all thanks to Frie being annoying and persistent with getting them to visit Ame in the first place! : )
[Redacted] They'll have to thank him.
[Me] Gibe would absolutely insist... Frie refuses any kind of money offering though, he doesn't need it
[Redacted] Yeah especially since he gets good money from his job
[Me] And he'd feel very weird taking money from someone as rich as Gibe (he's not sure why)
[Redacted] They can remain in contact after Ame passes away...
[Me] I still like the cursed idea of Gibe fucking Frie, but
[Redacted] I mean, in a way, it's kind of hot but it feels like Gibe is too into Luci to even look at anyone else
[Me] To be fair, Frie is kinda similar to Luci in some ways /s
