Useful features in BlueSky

A somewhat messy guide on how to navigate BlueSky the way you want

Hi. So I'm compiling some guides in this post the best I can in hopes that more people move to the skies instead.

-Set your posts to non-Quote Repost and only your mutuals and followers replying to your posts.

This is a feature that was implemented for a long time now. You can set your posts where everyone cannot quote-repost and only your mutual followers and followers can reply to your posts. You can also make "lists" in BlueSky as well, so that you can set your post interactions where only people in your saved lists can reply to your posts.

You will see this:

- Adding content warning

This post explains how to use them.

- While BlueSky still has not added the option to make your account private, it's still possible for non-BlueSky users to not see your posts, other than post previews.

- Hashtags works very well in BlueSky

This post explains how to use hashtags effectively.

As you can see, once you click on the hashtags in someone's profile, you can view them in their profile only, not including other's profile ("see #hashtag by user"). It would look like this:

- BlueSky has profile Feeds, similar to Twitter's previous feature Moments. It also acts like Posfie.

I use Bluefeed, and it's easy to understand and to use, as a Japanese developer made it. It should look like this after you use BlueFeed:

Please keep in mind that using BlueSky third-party apps require you to have App Passwords, which can be found in your Privacy and Settings. You can only view your App Passwords once, so it is recommended you write down your App Password somewhere else. However, you can still reset your App Password just fine if you forgot your App Password.

I recently found SkyBlur, which is like Fursetter.

- Personal Feeds you can add for yourself

You will see this once you click "More Feeds"

It is highly recommended to add "Only Posts" if you want to see your Following's and Mutual's new posts without seeing their Reposts. Add "Mutuals" feed to just see your mutual followers' post. You can also add "Mentions" feed if you want to see people who reply to you without checking your Notifications.

- You can subscribe to block and mute lists to automatically filter out and block rude users

Go to the Moderation list under Settings:

These are the lists I subscribed, for example:

Once you click on a list, you are given the option to "Block" or "Mute" the users in the list.

- BlueSky can use links

You can make your posts look like this:

Here is the original post explaining how to set up links.. Just like BlueFeed, you will need an App Password to use Deck Blue.

I believe this is all I can share! I do hope everyone would try out BlueSky, as you can make it peaceful there~
