[diary?] some thoughts 001

something something alg0 (too much text, just me rambling)

man I have a lot to say after digesting stuff about Twitter's new algorithm system. So this post is just documenting my thoughts before I forget about it.

It's honestly quite understandable how most users voice out their grievances about it, because of how punishing Twitter now is if a user isn't consistent with their type of posts and when they post. There's this one post I saw where it's said that even big content creators are getting affected. And their advice is to post more professionally, if they ever want the algorithm to notice them and be on the spotlight. This, of course, have some detractors, saying it's unfair that now EVERYONE has to go with the trends instead of posting what they like, if they want AND need their posts to be seen.

And honestly? Sure, go lang. Personally for me, I find the whole thing quite... oddly fascinating? Because whenever I see some artists rightfully expressing their worries how will they ever get seen, I am reminded how I know highly talented artist moots IRL that don't even have social media, or are barely active in their social media, yet they were still able to get projects and get hired anyway.

That honestly convinced me that, yes, you WILL eventually land onto something you deserve or wished if you just... keep being yourself, and draw whatever you like. Because in the end, you WILL definitely get an audience to matter what. I just feel like with the technology now and the current social media climate, we just became more impatient and want to get what we want ASAP, without realizing we are, indeed, in a hurry. And that's valid! Because we are also are aware how everything is finite.

Maybe I just want to tell everyone that, yes, everything is fucking dire, but it doesn't have to ruin your day and discourage you from creating. Maybe you also have to do something else if you really need an income, like getting a job that's not too stressful for you and pays well enough.

Honestly, I don't even think people would listen to me as well, cuz I'm just rambling based on my experience and observations, and I am too aware everyone has different experience. So there really isn't an absolute answer and advice. it's really all up to you, based on how well you know yourself, your strengths and you weaknesses, whatever you think you can improve on (i don't like saying "fix yourself" personally speaking) and whatever makes you YOU.
